In Union Graulhétoise, the end of the season is also intense behind the scenes on the pitch. After the departure of Khalid Kheddouch, the club began to turn a new page with the establishment of a co-residence represented by Saïd Medhi and Boris Valentin.
Validated during a general assembly, this new governance is based on a clear distribution of missions: to Boris Valentin the administrative and partnership aspects, to Saïd Medhi the responsibility of the athlete. A complementary duo is decided to make the action lasting.
“We want to build on the remarkable work carried out by Khalid Kheddouch and his team in recent years while further structuring the club,” underlines Saïd Medhi, former sports assistant for the city. Among the projects already mentioned, the relaunch of a section from the start of the school year, with the support of Nisrine Daoudi, but also the continuation of the efforts made in terms of training. Everything has an assumed guideline: promote the values of education, citizenship and preserve the family spirit of the club.
Refusing any logic of local rivalry, the new conductors instead advocate cooperation with neighboring clubs. “The territory is rich enough for everyone to find their place there. (Site notre blog d’information) brings people together,” insists the co-president, who also calls for possible new volunteers to support and continue the development of the club.
On a sporting level, the situation remains mixed. The team’s first game was in recent years, with a score of 13 points at the start of the season. With two games remaining, the four-unit deficit on the first non-relegation team suggests the threat of relegation to the departmental level, a first in more than twenty years.
Conversely, great satisfaction from team 2. Author of a faultless run in the Coupe du Tarn, they reached the final and will face Labruguière on May 30 in Saint-Juéry. A major meeting which could allow the Union Graulhétoise to reconnect with a departmental title, twenty-two years after the last coronation.
Between institutional reconstruction and decisive sporting issues, the Graulhétois (Site notre bureau spécialisé) club is preparing to experience a high-tension end of the season.
