Hamburger SV meet Hansa Rostock today as part of Matchday 2 of the 2nd Bundesliga. The Rothosen pay tribute to Uwe Seeler.
The club legend died within the week at the age of 85, and sympathy across Germany was huge. Many clubs have been playing with black ribbons in recent days, HSV is now going a step further and wearing a special shirt.
With « UNS UWE » on the chest and the number 9 on the sleeve, in today’s home game we will honor Uwe #Seeler accumulate

Thus, the main sponsor gives way and gives way to a « UNS UWE » lettering on the chest. A sponsor also omitted the sleeves so there would be room for a 9, i.e. Seeler’s old shirt number. No doubt a nice gesture from everyone involved.
