Chelsea’s first signing from the post-Abramovich era is Raheem Sterling (27). The winger is leaving Manchester City and, according to the media, is moving to Stamford Bridge for around 56 million euros, despite having a contract for just one year – one of the ten highest transfers in the club’s history. Sterling is the fourth English (Site notre bureau spécialisé)er to have received a combined sum of over €100m.

Sterling is also hoping for a bigger role and better goalscoring values with his transfer, as his playing time has steadily decreased over the past three years under manager Pep Guardiola.
« Raheem Sterling is a winner and his signing is an important step in strengthening our squad. We are delighted to have Raheem return to London with Chelsea and we can’t wait to see his world-class talent at Stamford Bridge, » commented the new owner Todd Boehly at signing.
Sterling is the first piece of the puzzle in what is sure to be a busy summer transfer window for Chelsea: Kalidou Koulibaly (31, SSC Napoli) is due for his medical on Thursday, along with Matthijs de Ligt (22, Juve), Cristiano Ronaldo (37, Man Utd), Serge Gnabry (26, FC Bayern) and Jules Koundé (23, Sevilla FC) are just some of the best players rumored to have been swapped.
