Robert Lewandowski pulled FC Barcelona almost single-handedly to a 3-0 (3-0) victory over Villarreal FC. The 34-year-old ex-Munich player scored in the 31st and 35th minute of the home game on Thursday night to give the Catalans a 2-0 lead. In Europe’s top 5 leagues, only Erling Haaland has scored more times this season, the Norwegian has 15 goals at Premier League club Manchester City.
Ansu Fati (38th) took the preliminary decision against ‘Submarinos Amarillos’ before the change. Barcelona remain second in the standings. Real Madrid top the list. The winner of the Champions League won 3-0 (1-0) at FC Elche the day before.
