Third division club VfL Osnabrück has strengthened with Julian Kania from Arminia Bielefeld. The 24-year-old center forward is on loan to Lower Saxony until the end of the season and is expected to strengthen the weak offensive side in the fight for promotion. With a market value of 500,000 euros, Kania is now the most valuable Osnabrück resident.
In the summer of 2024, Kania left 1. FC Nuremberg for Bielefeld for 150,000 euros and has since scored 18 goals in 57 matches. He notably scored a goal in the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart. He also achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga 14 times. During the current season, he has only started once in the league and has not gone beyond the role of joker.
After 19 match days, Osnabrück occupies sixth place in the 3rd league, the gap with a direct promotion place is three points. With just 26 goals, the purple and white have the weakest offense in the top half of the table. The most accurate professional is Robin Meißner, who succeeded six times. Since 2000, the Osnabrück team has signed nine players from Arminia Bielefeld – the Lower Saxony team has only used Holstein Kiel more often.
