Soccer. Kevin Garnier (US Changed coach): « Do with the delay »

Eleven days, 0 victory, the US Change is up against the wall in a National 3 where five clubs will go down at the end of the season. But Kévin Garnier, the coach has changed, wants to believe it.

Is there an emergency at the Changed US?

There is no urgency insofar as we are lucid about our level and that of others. We tried to make everyone aware of this sense of urgency from the start and I think it’s more of a hindrance than anything else. The maintenance and the five runs came up in all the discussions. At some point, it’s also what we’re going to put on the pitch that will allow us to win matches. We have to focus on the match to come rather than saying to ourselves: I need so many victories… Our game intentions are starting to be assimilated by the players and the team is in progress. Don’t forget that I’ve only been here for four months.

The truce was again eventful in the workforce.

Roberto Adompaï (Vertou) has just joined us. It’s a fairly versatile offset profile. Allan Lawrence (Editor’s note: professional Armand’s little brother) just qualified from 1^he January We lost several players: Diego Artu, Mohamed Camara. Balla Diakhaby and Karamba Sylla have left and I have no further news. 47 players have been used since the start of the season, it’s incredible… Normally, 80% of your playing time is based on 15 players, which explains the problem encountered. 17 players who were in the N3 group photo in August are no longer there. Recruitment failed. On a stable completes a group only since January. It’s as if we started our season now… except that it already started eleven days ago.

The recovery will be full-bodied with matches against the leader then against his runner-up, what do you expect from these meetings?

I think it’s an opportunity to attack the championship again without pressure. We know that everyone sees us as losers so we can only thwart the predictions. The idea will be to chain the matches by decreasing our level of performance. We have certainties that are beginning to emerge despite the results. I find that on our two games of 2023 (note: in friendly and in cup) and our last match of 2022, we are able to score goals, to be organized… The objective is to do it for as long as possible in matches. We were very messy at the start of the season.

Does this give you confidence for the future?

I think we will be able to do things during the second half of the season. Anyway, the delay is taken, we have to deal with it. The red thread of this second part of the season is to do things well, together and simply. These are our three watchwords.
